about

Beulah Land, This ‘oompa-band’ rendition of the popular spiritual was the inspiration for our band’s name. Beulah (in Hebrew “marriage”) refers to the joining of a people to their destined home, and the accompanying “don’t expect to stop until I join the band” was too good to pass up. In retrospect, it kind of sounds like we’re married to each other. That’s probably OK.

The Washed Up Beulah Band is Wheaton Squier, Arthur Davis, Kenny Shimizu and Luke Jackson. We sing the amazing, largely forgotten style of Jubilee quartet music. Enjoy!
